Reviews
Critics have had mixed reviews for Intimate Stranger. On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 5.5/10, indicating a lukewarm reception. Roger Ebert's review on his site suggests that while Debbie Harry gives a spirited performance, the film's narrative structure leaves much to be desired, arguing that the plot feels disjointed at times: "The film meanders and at moments loses the grip on its own storyline." Similarly, Rotten Tomatoes summarizes audience feedback with a consensus that highlights both the tension and shortcomings, noting that the film offers 'a suspenseful premise but struggles with pacing'. A user on Metacritic remarked, "There are moments where the tension is palpable, yet too often the film leans on clichรฉ rather than innovation." Overall, while some viewers appreciate the film's attempt at a thrilling narrative and Harry's captivating performance, many feel it falls short of delivering a cohesive and satisfying experience, making it a film worth watching for fans of the genre but one that might disappoint those seeking a tightly woven thriller.
