Reviews
Afterlife has earned considerable acclaim from both audiences and critics alike. On IMDb, it holds a strong rating of 7.9 out of 10, which reflects its widespread approval. Critics from 'The Guardian' praised the show for its 'superb performances and evocative atmosphere,' calling it 'a refreshingly mature approach to the supernatural genre.' 'The Independent' complimented Lesley Sharp's portrayal of Alison Mundy, saying she 'delivers a hauntingly powerful performance that is both believable and emotionally rich.' However, not all reviews were glowing. 'The Telegraph' felt that the show occasionally 'relies too heavily on melodrama,' although it acknowledged the show's 'undeniable emotional impact.' On Rotten Tomatoes, audience reviews highlight the series' 'intriguing plotlines' and 'remarkable character development,' though some viewers noted its 'slow pacing' as a minor drawback. Metacritic reflects a more balanced view, with a score that indicates generally favorable reviews but suggests room for improvement. Overall, the series is praised for its depth, emotional gravity, and unique take on supernatural themes.
