Reviews
Initial D has received a mixed reception from critics, with some praising its high-octane racing scenes and faithful adaptation of the source material. Rotten Tomatoes rates it at 60%, highlighting the film's exciting race sequences and Jay Chou's charismatic performance as Takumi. However, IMDb gives it a modest 6.3/10, citing the film's thin character development and predictable plot as drawbacks. Metacritic scores Initial D at 48/100, with reviews pointing out the film's lack of depth compared to the manga. Despite the criticisms, fans of the manga appreciate the adrenaline-fueled races and attention to detail in the car scenes. Overall, Initial D offers a thrilling cinematic experience for those seeking fast-paced action and racing drama.
