While some praised Christopher Reeve's performance as the lead character and the film's ability to maintain suspense throughout, others found the pacing to be slow and the plot lacking compared to the original Alfred Hitchcock film. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a rating of 46%, with critics noting that while the movie captures some of the suspense of the original, it falls short in delivering a truly captivating story. Meanwhile, IMDb rates it at 5.6/10, indicating a more lukewarm response from audiences. Some viewers appreciated the modern take on the classic tale, while others felt it didn't quite live up to expectations.
