Reviews

The Deep has been met with mixed reviews from critics. While some praise its underwater cinematography and tense action sequences, others criticize its thin plot and lack of character development. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 42% rating, with the consensus stating 'The Deep plunges the viewer into a visually stunning but ultimately shallow adventure.' IMDb rates it 6.2/10, acknowledging its entertainment value but noting its flaws. Metacritic gives it a score of 41/100, suggesting that the film falls short in terms of storytelling and depth. Despite the criticisms, The Deep has its strong points, such as Robert Shaw's commanding presence and the thrilling moments scattered throughout the narrative.
