Reviews
House of Wax received mixed reviews from critics. While some praised the film for its suspenseful atmosphere and eerie setting, others criticized its predictable plot and lack of originality. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 28% rating, with critics noting that the film relied too heavily on cliches and jump scares. Metacritic scored it at 41/100, with some reviewers appreciating the film's practical effects and makeup work. Despite its flaws, viewers on IMDb rated it 5.5/10, acknowledging the film's entertainment value and Cuthbert's performance. Overall, House of Wax offers a decent scare for horror enthusiasts, but falls short of being a standout in the genre.
