Reviews

Paycheck received mixed to negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 27% approval rating, with many reviewers criticizing the film for its convoluted plot and lack of character development. The site's consensus notes, "Despite its interesting premise and a charismatic lead, Paycheck gets lost in its own complicated story and fails to engage." Metacritic presents a slightly more moderate view with a score of 43 out of 100, indicating mixed or average reviews. Reviewers praised Ben Affleck's commitment to the role but felt the screenplay was unoriginal and predictable. IMDb users rate the film 6.3/10, reflecting a more favorable audience reception compared to critics. Some reviewers highlighted the strong action sequences and visual effects, while others lamented the film's missed potential to delve deeper into its intriguing concept. Overall, Paycheck polarizes viewers, offering entertainment primarily for fans of fast-paced sci-fi thrillers but falling short of expectations for those seeking a more intellectually engaging narrative.
