Reviews
Despite its fascinating premise and visually stunning production design, 'Krabat' falls short in its execution, leaving audiences wanting more depth and emotional connection to the characters. While the film successfully captures the eerie atmosphere of the sorcerer's mill and the dark magic at play, the pacing feels uneven and the character development lacks the necessary depth to truly engage viewers. Critics have highlighted the strong performances by the young cast, particularly David Kross as the titular character, whose portrayal of Krabat's inner conflict adds emotional weight to the story. However, the film ultimately fails to deliver a truly immersive experience, resulting in a mixed reception from audiences and critics alike. Rotten Tomatoes gave 'Krabat' a rating of 3.8/5, praising its dark fairy tale elements but criticizing its narrative coherence and character development.
