Reviews
The Spirit received a mix of reviews upon its release. While some critics praised its stylish visuals and unique take on the superhero genre, others criticized its convoluted plot and lackluster execution. Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a low rating of 14%, with the consensus stating, "Despite its visual style, The Spirit's nonstop action and overstylized narration can't save it from being a derivative and predictable tale." IMDb rated it at 4.7/10, highlighting the divisive opinions among viewers. Metacritic gave it a score of 30/100, indicating generally unfavorable reviews. Some critics appreciated Gabriel Macht's portrayal of the titular character, but the film as a whole left much to be desired in terms of storytelling and character development.
