Reviews
Critics have mixed feelings about Keeping Mum, with ratings reflecting the divisive nature of the film. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a moderate score of 57%, indicating a lukewarm reception. Metacritic also landed on a lukewarm score of 53/100. Despite the average ratings, some reviewers found the dark humor and the stellar performances by the cast, including Rowan Atkinson, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Maggie Smith, to be the film's redeeming qualities. The clever twists in the plot and the unique blend of comedy and drama have garnered praise from audiences looking for a different kind of family comedy. However, others criticize the film for its inconsistent tone and pacing issues, pointing out moments where the humor falls flat or the story seems predictable. Overall, Keeping Mum is a quirky and unconventional film that has its supporters and detractors.
