Synopsis

Iron And Silk is a 1991 American-Chinese film directed by Shirley Sun, based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Mark Salzman. The film follows the journey of Mark, a young American who travels to China to teach English. Through his experiences learning martial arts and the Chinese language, Mark forms deep connections with the locals and gains a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
