Synopsis

In the small French village of Tremolat, the peaceful life is shattered when the butcher, Popaul (played by Stéphane Audran), becomes the prime suspect in a series of brutal murders. As the body count rises, the schoolteacher Hélène (played by Stéphane Audran) finds herself drawn to Popaul despite the dark cloud of suspicion hanging over him. A tense and atmospheric psychological thriller unfolds as the villagers confront their deepest fears and secrets.
