Reviews

Flesh and Fury has sparked diverse opinions among critics and audiences since its release. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 6.6/10, indicating a somewhat mixed reception. Critics have pointed out the film's compelling premise but also highlighted its melodramatic elements. The New York Times praised Tony Curtis's performance, stating he 'effortlessly encapsulates the plight and determination of a boxer.' This sentiment is echoed by Rotten Tomatoes, which asserts that 'Curtis delivers a raw and emotional portrayal, which elevates the narrative beyond typical sports dramas.' On the other hand, some reviewers from Metacritic have noted the filmโ€™s pacing issues, suggesting that it 'lagged in parts, making the two-hour runtime feel drawn out.' Despite some criticisms regarding its structure, Flesh and Fury's themes of struggle and personal resilience resonate with many, making it a noteworthy entry in Curtis's filmography. Overall, while it may not have struck a chord with everyone, it has certainly carved out a niche following among classic film aficionados.
