Reviews
Samba received a mixed bag of reviews from critics upon its release. While some praised the film for its touching portrayal of the immigrant experience and the chemistry between the lead actors, others found the narrative to be predictable and lacking in depth. Rotten Tomatoes gave Samba a rating of 61%, with the consensus stating that, 'Despite solid work from its well-matched leads, Samba struggles to find a consistent groove and is further undermined by some overtly preachy elements.' IMDb users rated the film 6.7/10, with many appreciating the authentic performances and the heartfelt storytelling. On Metacritic, Samba received a score of 53/100, indicating mixed or average reviews. Overall, Samba offers a thought-provoking take on immigration issues, but its execution may not resonate with every viewer.
