Reviews
Forrest Gump has received a mix of reviews from critics, with an IMDb rating of 8.8/10, Rotten Tomatoes score of 71%, and Metacritic rating of 82/100. While some critics praise the film for its heartwarming story and Tom Hanks' brilliant performance, others find fault in its sentimentalism and simplistic portrayal of historical events. The New York Times called it 'a sweet-natured fairy tale of an idiot savant,' while Rolling Stone described it as 'a sweeping historical epic that tugs at the heartstrings.' Despite differing opinions, the film's impact on popular culture and Hanks' portrayal of Forrest continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.
