Synopsis

Crusade in Jeans, also known as Kruistocht in Spijkerbroek, is a 2006 adventure film directed by Ben Sombogaart, based on the popular children's novel by Thea Beckman. The story follows a 14-year-old boy named Dolf who volunteers for a time travel experiment and finds himself transported to the 13th century, in the midst of a children's crusade. Determined to help the children and return to his own time, Dolf faces numerous challenges and moral dilemmas while navigating the unfamiliar medieval world. The film beautifully depicts the struggles and friendships Dolf forms during his journey, blending historical elements with a timeless coming-of-age tale.
