Lilies of the Field

Synopsis

In the movie Lilies of the Field, released in 1963 and starring Sidney Poitier, an itinerant worker named Homer Smith stops at a convent in the Arizona desert. The Mother Superior, convinced that Homer has been sent by God to build a chapel for the nuns, persuades him to take on the task. Despite the language barrier and his initial reluctance, Homer begins to form a deep connection with the nuns and the community. Through hard work, determination, and faith, they come together to overcome challenges and build something truly special.
