Reviews

Apocalypse Pompeii received predominantly negative reviews from critics and audiences alike. On IMDb, the film holds a low rating of 2.5/10, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with its production quality and storytelling. Many reviewers criticized the movie for poor special effects, lackluster acting, and a clichéd narrative. For example, a common critique noted on user forums and some media outlets is that while the premise had potential, the execution was weak and failed to capture the intensity of the disaster thriller genre. Rotten Tomatoes does not have a critic score for the film, suggesting it did not receive significant critical attention or theatrical release. Metacritic also lacks a score, indicating limited mainstream critical engagement. Despite this, some viewers appreciated the attempt at a disaster movie set in a historical context and found the campy, B-movie style entertaining on a certain level. Overall, Apocalypse Pompeii is generally regarded as a low-budget, flawed disaster film more suitable for casual viewing than serious critique.
