Reviews

Aatma received a mixed to negative response from critics and audiences alike. With a low IMDb rating of 3.9/10, it was evident that the film struggled to leave a lasting impression. Critic Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama noted, "The film fails to deliver the thrills expected from a horror story, suffering from a weak script and poor execution." Additionally, the film managed to hold some intrigue in its performances, especially from Bipasha Basu, who received praise for her portrayal of a distressed mother. However, the general consensus highlighted that the narrative became increasingly predictable and lacked depth, as stated by a review on Rotten Tomatoes, where it garnered a mere 16% approval rating. The visual effects and atmosphere created were acknowledged, yet they were not enough to compensate for the overall narrative shortcomings. Many reviewers pointed out that despite some spooky moments, the film ultimately left much to be desired, resulting in a cinematic experience that failed to resonate with viewers in a significant way. Overall, Aatma was found wanting in coherence and meaningful scares, landing it in the realm of forgettable horror films.
