Synopsis

Dancing at Lughnasa is a heartfelt drama set in Ireland in the 1930s, following the lives of the five unmarried Mundy sisters, headed by schoolteacher Kate (Meryl Streep). Their world is disrupted by the return of their brother, Father Jack, who has returned from a mission in Africa. The arrival of a charming young man named Gerry also brings new energy and conflict to the household. As tensions rise and old wounds are reopened, the sisters find solace and unity in the freedom of dance, culminating in a powerful and emotional climax that celebrates the bond between the sisters and the joy of living in the moment.
