Reviews
The Ardennes has garnered mixed reviews from critics. While some commend the film's gritty realism and atmospheric tension, others find its plot predictable and lacking depth. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 58% rating, with the consensus stating 'The Ardennes juggles genre conventions with satisfying dexterity, even if the end result feels somewhat derivative.' Metacritic rates the film at 47/100, citing its strong performances but criticizing its reliance on familiar tropes. IMDb users have rated it 6.7/10, praising the film's dark and intense atmosphere. Variety praises Jeroen Perceval's performance, calling it 'compelling and nuanced'. IndieWire, however, criticizes the film's pacing, stating 'The Ardennes struggles to maintain tension throughout.' Overall, The Ardennes is a solid crime drama with moments of brilliance, though it may not be groundbreaking.
