Reviews
Flypaper received largely mixed to negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a low approval rating of 15%, with the consensus noting that "the film struggles to balance its comedic and thriller elements, resulting in a muddled and forgettable experience." The website criticized the film for its uneven tone and lack of character development. IMDb users gave Flypaper a moderately better rating of 6.3/10, appreciating the cast's performances, especially Patrick Dempsey's likable presence, but many cited the screenplay as the film's weakness. Metacritic assigned a score of 37 out of 100, indicating generally unfavorable reviews. Critics from major outlets described the movie as "a half-hearted attempt at a clever caper" (The Guardian) and "a tedious mix of slapstick and suspense that never quite gels" (Variety). However, some reviewers praised the film's dialogue and moments of genuine humor, though they agreed these were not enough to fully redeem the film. Overall, Flypaper is regarded as an average-to-poor entry in the heist genre with a few entertaining moments but hampered by pacing and tonal inconsistencies.
