Reviews
Fric-Frac has received a mixed but generally warm reception from critics and audiences alike. While not as internationally renowned as other French crime comedies, it holds nostalgic value for fans of early 1970s French cinema. On IMDb, it holds an average rating of 6.2/10 based on viewer reviews, highlighting the charm of Jean-Pierre Darras's performance and the film's lighthearted approach to crime. Critics commend the film's witty script and the chemistry between the lead actors but note that the pacing can feel uneven at times. According to a retrospective review by French film enthusiasts cited on AlloCiné, "Fric-Frac remains a delightful blend of humor and suspense, even if it doesn't reach the heights of more celebrated caper films." However, some reviewers find the narrative predictable, with limited character development beyond the leads. Overall, Fric-Frac is appreciated for its period charm and as a solid example of French comedic crime films, delivering a fun, if somewhat modest, cinematic experience.
