Reviews
Critical reception for Glass was mixed, with opinions divided on its narrative approach and pacing. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a low approval rating of 37%, with the consensus indicating that while the movie tries to revisit the Shyamalan universe, it falls short in delivering a compelling story. Some critics praised James McAvoy's dynamic performance as multiple personalities, highlighting it as a standout aspect. For instance, reviewers acknowledged that the character exploration was more engaging than the overall plot. IMDb users rated Glass at 6.6/10, showing moderate audience appreciation, especially among those familiar with the previous films, Unbreakable and Split. Metacritic's score is 43/100, signifying mixed or average reviews. Some reviewers felt the film's pacing was uneven and the conclusions unsatisfying, whereas others appreciated its ambition and thematic depth. Despite criticisms, Glass was noted for attempting a unique blend of psychological thriller elements with superhero tropes, ultimately offering a thought-provoking experience for fans of Shyamalan's distinctive storytelling style.
