Reviews
He Was Cool received a mixed reception from critics and audiences alike. On IMDb, the film holds a score of 6.1/10, indicating moderate appreciation for its charming performances and relatable high school romance. While some reviewers commended Song Seung-heon's charismatic portrayal of Woo-suk and praised the chemistry between the leads, others pointed out that the plot was somewhat predictable and adhered closely to typical romantic comedy tropes. Critics from sites like AsianMoviePulse appreciated the film's light tone and nostalgic appeal but noted that it lacks depth and complexity, which may not satisfy viewers looking for a more substantial storyline. Rotten Tomatoes does not have an aggregated score, reflecting its niche appeal primarily within the Korean romantic comedy genre. Overall, He Was Cool is celebrated for its feel-good moments and nostalgic charm but critiqued for its conventional narrative and pacing.
