Reviews
Despite its ambitious premise, Hillside Cannibals has found itself struggling to resonate with audiences and critics alike. With a dismal IMDb rating of 2.3/10, it has faced sharp criticism. According to a review from 'Rotten Tomatoes', the film was labeled as 'a low-budget misfire that fails to engage or terrify'. Critics noted the lack of character development and coherence in the plot, stating, 'The cannibalistic theme has potential, but the execution falls flat.' On 'Metacritic', where it holds a score reflecting overall negative reviews, one critic remarked, 'The performances were wooden, and the dialogue was laughable at best.' Yet, some horror fans appreciated the film's commitment to its genre, recognizing it as a guilty pleasure for those who enjoy campy horror. A review on 'IMDb' stated, 'If you're a fan of so-bad-it's-good cinema, it might be worth a watch, but don't expect Oscar-worthy acting or storytelling.' While the film has its share of detractors, it continues to attract a niche audience drawn to its outlandish concept.
