Synopsis
Killer Crocodile, a 1989 horror-action film starring Richard Anthony Crenna, unravels the chilling tale of a giant, mutated crocodile terrorizing a polluted river community. When toxic waste dumps into the river, it causes a prehistoric crocodile to become monstrously large and aggressive. A determined group of ecologists and locals band together to confront and stop the creature before it wreaks havoc on the nearby towns. The movie mixes environmental cautionary themes with classic creature-feature thrills, set against the backdrop of remote marshlands and swamps. With a blend of suspense, action, and campy horror elements, Killer Crocodile delivers a low-budget but entertaining monster movie experience of the late 1980s.

Reviews
Critical reception for Killer Crocodile has been mixed to negative, largely reflecting its B-movie status and production limitations. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 4.7/10, showcasing a polarized audience where some appreciate its campy charm while others criticize its acting and special effects. Rotten Tomatoes does not have an official critic score, but user reviews note the filmโs 'cheesy yet entertaining' qualities alongside moments of unintentional humor. Horror and cult film fans often highlight the film as a fun entry in the creature feature genre that doesnโt take itself too seriously. However, critics point out the predictable plot, low-budget effects, and uneven pacing as significant drawbacks. TV Guide commented, โWhile Killer Crocodile lacks the scares and polish of better monster movies, its relentless creature attacks may satisfy genre enthusiasts looking for simple thrills.โ Despite its flaws, the film retains a certain nostalgic appeal and is frequently mentioned in discussions about 80s horror creature movies. Overall, itโs a niche flick that appeals mainly to fans of campy horror and environmental cautionary tales.
