Reviews

Li'l Abner, based on the popular comic strip, received a mixed reception from critics upon its release. While some praised the performances and quirky humor of the film, others found it to be too campy and over-the-top. The New York Times mentioned, 'Peter Palmer's portrayal of the lovable hillbilly is endearing, making the character come to life on screen.' On the other hand, Variety criticized the movie for its lack of depth and reliance on slapstick comedy.
