Reviews
"Planes" has received mixed to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. On IMDb, it holds an impressive rating of 8.9/10, showcasing strong viewer appreciation. Rotten Tomatoes reflects a more moderate response with a critics' score near 25%, indicating mixed critical reception but a warmer audience approval. Metacritic presents a score around 40 out of 100, underscoring the divisive critical opinion. Critics praised the film for its vibrant animation quality and engaging voice performances, especially noting Eliza Taylor's contribution to bringing authenticity to her character. The film's appeal to younger audiences and fans of the "Cars" franchise has been highlighted as a strong point. However, some reviewers pointed out the film's predictable plot and lack of depth compared to its predecessor. As a family-friendly film, "Planes" succeeds in entertaining children with its colorful visuals and straightforward storytelling, though it may not offer much novelty or complexity for older viewers. Overall, "Planes" is recommended for families seeking light-hearted and visually appealing entertainment, but it might leave critics wanting more in terms of narrative sophistication.
