Synopsis

Sinister is a horror movie released in 2012, directed by Scott Derrickson. The plot follows true-crime writer Ellison Oswald, played by Ethan Hawke, as he moves his family into a house where a family was murdered. He discovers a box of old home movies depicting gruesome murders that put his family in danger.
