Reviews
Skeeter received largely negative reviews upon release and continues to be rated poorly among audiences and critics alike. On IMDb, it holds a low rating of 3.3 out of 10, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with its production quality and storyline. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 20% approval rating, indicating that only a small fraction of reviewers found merit in the film. Critics often mention that while the premise had potential as a creature feature, the execution fell short due to subpar special effects, uneven pacing, and lackluster performances. For example, some horror review sites note that the giant mosquitoes are unconvincing and the tension builders fail to engage effectively. However, a few reviews acknowledge the film's campy charm and its earnest environmental message, seeing it as a guilty pleasure for fans of 90s B-movie horror. Overall, Skeeter is regarded as a forgettable entry in the genre with limited appeal beyond cult enthusiasts.
