Reviews
The Inbetweeners Movie received a mixed reception from critics and audiences alike, reflecting its unique brand of crude and cheeky humor. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 53% approval rating, indicating a fairly divided consensus; some praised its unapologetic, raunchy comedy while others found it juvenile. The Rotten Tomatoes consensus notes the film delivers enough laughs to satisfy fans of the original TV series but may not appeal to wider audiences. IMDb users have rated it 6.7/10, suggesting a moderate appreciation, especially among fans of British comedy. Metacritic’s score of 44/100 further reflects the polarizing views, summarizing reviews as generally mixed. Critics from The Guardian commented that while the film "captures the essence of teenage awkwardness with brutal honesty," some felt the humor occasionally "relied too heavily on crude stereotypes." Meanwhile, Empire magazine appreciated the "sharp writing and strong performances," calling it "an entertaining extension of the beloved TV show." Overall, the movie is considered a success within its niche market for those who enjoy irreverent, youth-centered comedies, but those outside this demographic might find it less appealing.
