Reviews
Despite its B-movie roots, 'Ticks' manages to deliver a surprisingly entertaining and satisfying horror experience. The practical effects used to portray the mutated ticks are impressively grotesque and add a visceral intensity to the film. The performances, especially by Rosalind Allen, bring a genuine sense of urgency and fear to the narrative. While the plot may be somewhat predictable, the movie successfully builds tension and keeps viewers engaged throughout. With a decent balance of horror and suspense, 'Ticks' offers a nostalgic throwback to 90s creature features that fans of the genre will appreciate. While not groundbreaking, the film's campy charm and decent execution make it a worthwhile watch for horror enthusiasts. IMDb rating: 5.5/10, Metacritic rating: 43/100.
