Reviews

"Sea of Death" has received mixed reviews from various critics and audiences alike. On IMDb, it currently holds a rating of 4.2/10, indicating a lukewarm reception. Critics have noted its ambitious premise but highlighted several shortcomings in execution. For example, a reviewer from MovieWeb remarked, "The film attempts to explore deeper themes of trust and fear, but ultimately gets lost in its convoluted plot and lack of character development." Conversely, some audience members appreciated the suspenseful atmosphere, stating that it captures the essence of a classic creature feature. A review on Rotten Tomatoes commented, "While it may not be a perfect film, it has moments that are genuinely thrilling and visually haunting." However, the film's pacing has been criticized; according to a view on Metacritic, "The slow build-up left too many viewers impatient for the action to begin." Ultimately, while "Sea of Death" might appeal to niche audiences interested in underwater horror, it falls short of capturing a broader appeal due to its lack of polish and depth in storytelling.
