Reviews
Whisper received mixed to negative reviews upon its release, holding an IMDb rating of 5.7/10. Critics often praised the film's intriguing premise and the compelling performance by Blake Woodruff as the enigmatic boy, which added a chilling dimension. However, many reviews criticized the execution, pointing out that the film struggled with pacing and lacked depth in character development. On Rotten Tomatoes, Whisper holds a low approval rating, with critics citing a convoluted plot and underwhelming scare factor as key drawbacks. Metacritic also reflects a middling score, indicating a divided reception among critics. Some appreciated the atmospheric tension and thriller elements, while others found it lacking originality and coherence compared to other genre films. Overall, Whisper is seen as a modest thriller that might appeal to fans of eerie psychological suspense but fails to fully capitalize on its promising concept.
