Synopsis

Yaaba is a 1989 Burkinabé drama film directed by Idrissa Ouedraogo. The story follows two children, Bila and Nopoko, who befriend an elderly woman called Sana, referred to as Yaaba (which means 'grandmother' in Moore). Set in a rural African village, the film beautifully captures the innocence of childhood and the wisdom of old age.
