Synopsis
Alone in Berlin is a gripping drama set in war-torn 1940s Berlin, where an ordinary German couple, Otto and Anna Quangel (played by Emma Thompson), embark on a courageous act of resistance against the Nazi regime. Shocked by the death of their son in battle and disillusioned by the propaganda surrounding them, the couple starts writing postcards encouraging their fellow citizens to stand up against Hitler's tyranny. As their subversive campaign escalates, they attract the attention of the Gestapo, putting their lives in grave danger. Based on a true story, the film explores themes of defiance, bravery, and the power of ordinary people to make a difference in extraordinary circumstances.
