Reviews
Class of 1999 II: The Substitute received predominantly negative reviews from both critics and audiences. On IMDb, the film holds a score of 4.3/10, indicating mixed to unfavorable opinions. Critics often pointed out the movie's low budget and lack of originality, with predictable plotlines and underdeveloped characters. Some reviews noted that while the action scenes provided occasional entertainment, they were insufficient to elevate the overall narrative. For instance, Rotten Tomatoes does not have an official critic rating due to limited reviews, but user scores reflect disappointment among fans of the original. Metacritic does not list the film, further illustrating its modest impact. However, a few viewers appreciated Sasha Mitchell's physical performance and the nostalgic value for fans of mid-90s direct-to-video action films. Overall, the film is regarded as a niche genre piece with limited appeal beyond enthusiasts of campy sci-fi action movies.
