Love, Victor has garnered largely positive responses from critics and viewers alike. It holds an 8.0/10 rating on IMDb, reflecting its strong fan base and effective storytelling. Rotten Tomatoes reports a commendable 91% approval rating, with critics praising its relatable characters and heartfelt narrative. The Los Angeles Times lauds the show for its 'touching and authentic portrayal of teenage struggles,' while TV Guide appreciates how 'Michael Cimino's sincere performance anchors the show with warmth and depth.' However, not all feedback is glowing; some critics, like those at Metacritic, gave it a more moderate score of 69/100, pointing out that 'while it doesn't break new ground, it tells its story with charm and earnestness.' Variety highlights it as 'a significant step forward in LGBTQ representation on television,' though it mentions that 'some plot elements feel predictable.'
