Reviews
Holy Matrimony, released in 1943 and starring Monty Woolley, received a mix of reviews from critics of the time. While some praised the film for its charming storyline and Woolley's performance as the eccentric professor, others found the plot too predictable and the humor too theatrical. Variety magazine noted that the movie 'offers a unique and charming comedy for those seeking light-hearted entertainment,' giving it a rating of 3.5/5. The New York Times, on the other hand, criticized the film's lack of depth and character development, stating that it 'falls short of its potential.' Despite the varying opinions, Holy Matrimony maintains an IMDb rating of 7.2/10, indicating a generally positive reception from audiences.
