Despite an engaging premise, Bagman has drawn mixed reactions from critics and audiences alike. With an IMDb rating of 4.7/10, many viewers felt that the film didn't live up to its potential. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes echoed similar sentiments, stating that while Sam Claflin's performance is commendable, the screenplay falls short, leading to a disjointed narrative. One critic noted, 'Claflin delivers a solid performance, but the story doesn’t quite resonate, leaving viewers wanting more depth.' Metacritic rated the film at 52, with reviews highlighting the uneven pacing and lack of character development. The Cinematic Observer remarked, 'The film’s premise is intriguing, yet it often meanders in cliché territory, robbing it of the suspense it attempts to generate.' Positive reviews appreciated the film’s atmosphere and action sequences, calling it 'visually striking but narratively flawed.' Overall, while 'Bagman' features standout performances and some gripping moments, many felt it struggles to carve its niche in the crowded thriller landscape.
