Synopsis
To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts is a dark fantasy anime set in a post-war world where humans once used powerful, supernatural soldiers called the 'Beasts' to win a brutal conflict. Years after the war, these soldiers, who were transformed into monstrous creatures as a result of experiments, are feared and hunted by the very society they fought to protect. The story follows Hank Henriette, the son of one of these Beasts, as he embarks on a mission to track down and either save or eliminate these dangerous former heroes. Through intense battles, political intrigue, and emotional confrontations, the series explores themes of humanity, identity, and the consequences of war.

Reviews
To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts has garnered mixed reactions from critics and viewers alike. On IMDb, the show holds a rating of 6.2/10, reflecting a reception that leans towards average. Many reviewers praise the anime for its unique premise and intricate world-building, highlighting the dark, mature tone and complex moral questions it raises. Katsuyuki Konishi's performance as a lead character is often noted for adding depth to the series. However, some critics point out that the pacing can be uneven and the animation quality fluctuates throughout the series. Anime News Network comments on the show's atmospheric storytelling and emotional weight but cites inconsistent character development as a drawback. While fans of dark fantasy appreciate the gritty narrative and intense action sequences, others find the plot occasionally convoluted and the character motivations insufficiently explored. Overall, To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts stands out for its ambition and thematic boldness, though it may not appeal to everyone due to its somber tone and storytelling choices.
