Reviews
Hagazussa has garnered mixed but generally positive reviews from critics. The film's slow-burn approach to horror and its evocative visual style have been praised by many. Walter Addiego from San Francisco Chronicle gave it 3/4 stars, writing, 'Hagazussa is a compelling exercise in mood and dread.' On the other hand, some critics found the pacing too slow and the narrative too opaque. Wendy Ide from The Observer gave it a 2/5 rating, commenting, 'While Hagazussa has its moments, the film struggles to sustain its enigmatic atmosphere.' Despite these criticisms, the film's unique blend of arthouse sensibilities and folk horror elements has earned it a cult following among genre enthusiasts.
