Reviews
Re: Cutie Honey has garnered mixed to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. On IMDb, the show holds a respectable rating of 7.3/10, reflecting generally favorable opinions. Reviewers often highlight Yui Horie's charismatic voice acting as a standout feature that adds charm and personality to the protagonist. Anime News Network praises the OVA for its stylistic animation and nostalgic appeal, noting that "the series captures the retro spirit of the original while injecting contemporary energy." However, some critics point out that the six-episode length limits character development and narrative depth, leaving some story arcs feeling rushed or underexplored. Additionally, the show's heavy fanservice elements have been a point of contention; while some view them as a playful homage consistent with the franchise's tone, others consider it excessive. Metacritic does not have an aggregated score for the series, but user reviews mostly commend its entertaining action sequences and vibrant artwork. Overall, Re: Cutie Honey is appreciated for its fun, campy style, though it may not satisfy viewers seeking a deeply complex storyline.
