Born with the goal to bring peace between humans and Seraphim, Sorey ventures out from his tranquil village into a world plagued by malevolence and discord. Alongside his loyal friends Mikleo, an earnest and stoic Seraphim, and Alisha, a dedicated human knight, Sorey seeks to unite the divided races and cleanse the malevolent forces threatening the land. Reviews

Tales of Zestiria the X has garnered mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 6.8/10, reflecting a blend of praises and critiques. Rotten Tomatoes users appreciate the show's breathtaking visuals and animation quality, often citing it as 'a visual delight.' Ufotable's animation is frequently described as 'some of the best in the industry,' providing fluid and vibrant fight scenes and beautifully designed landscapes. Metacritic's reviews indicate a general appreciation for the character development and plot, with some critics noting that 'the show does a commendable job of bringing the video game's complex world and lore to life.' However, there are some criticisms regarding the show's pacing and story execution. Certain episodes are perceived as slow-moving, and some viewers feel that the narrative can become convoluted at times, making it difficult for newcomers to the Tales series to fully grasp the intricacies. Others have pointed out that while the series strives to remain true to its source material, this adherence occasionally results in predictable plotlines. Despite its flaws, Tales of Zestiria the X remains a solid entry within the fantasy anime genre, particularly recommended for fans of the original game and high-quality animation.
