Reviews
Critics have had a mixed response to 'Up Pompeii'. While some appreciate the film's witty dialogue, slapstick humor, and Frankie Howerd's charismatic performance, others find it lacking in substance and reliant on cheap gags. Rotten Tomatoes criticized the film for its outdated humor, giving it a rating of 2.5/5. On the contrary, IMDb praised Howerd's comedic timing and the film's energetic pace, rating it 5.9/10. Metacritic highlighted the film's nostalgic value for fans of classic comedies but noted its predictability and overreliance on innuendos. Despite the varied opinions, 'Up Pompeii' remains a cult classic for its campy charm and over-the-top comedic moments.
