Reviews

A Gentleman's Game received mixed to moderately positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 6.3/10, indicating a generally favorable reception from viewers. Reviewers praised Mason Gambleโ€™s earnest performance and the movieโ€™s sincere approach to its themes, with Roger Ebert noting that the film offers "a gentle and honest portrayal of youth and sportsmanship." However, some critics felt that the pacing was uneven and the plot somewhat predictable. While Rotten Tomatoes does not have a critic score available for the film, audience reviews suggest appreciation for its heartfelt storytelling, though some found it lacking in dramatic tension. Metacritic does not provide a score either, reflecting the filmโ€™s modest release and niche appeal. Overall, A Gentleman's Game is seen as a sincere and feel-good family drama that may particularly resonate with fans of golf and youth sports stories, despite not breaking new ground in its genre.
