Reviews
Desecration has had a mixed reception from critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film does not have enough reviews to generate an official score, but its reputation is polarizing. IMDb users have rated the film a 4.5/10, reflecting a divided audience. Some viewers appreciate the film's atmospheric tension and unsettling visuals, with one user noting, 'Desecration is a haunting journey into the surreal, reminiscent of David Lynch's early works.' However, not all responses were favorable. Critical reviews pointed out the film's slow pacing and lack of coherent narrative as significant drawbacks. For example, a Metacritic review highlighted, 'While visually intriguing, Desecration struggles to maintain a compelling storyline, often losing viewers in its abstract and sometimes confusing progression.' Overall, while some praise Tomaselli's unique directorial vision, others feel the film falls short in execution and coherence, with the ratings reflecting these mixed sentiments.
