Synopsis

Intruders is a 2011 psychological thriller starring Clive Owen as John Farrow, a man living in a secluded English village who becomes haunted by a mysterious childhood entity known as Hollow Face. The film explores the themes of fear, trauma, and the blurring of reality and imagination. Paralleling John's story, the film also follows Anna, a young girl with a similar past, revealing how the sinister presence transcends time and place. As both characters confront their inner demons and the ominous Hollow Face, the movie unfolds in a tense atmosphere filled with suspense and psychological horror, ultimately questioning the nature of fear itself.

For example, some critics noted the atmospheric tension but criticized the film for being too ambiguous and underdeveloped. Metacritic gives it a score of 45 out of 100, indicating mixed or average reviews. IMDb users rated the film moderately, with an average score of 5.4/10, reflecting divided audience opinions. Reviewers appreciated Clive Owen's performance but felt that the movie's execution failed to deliver a compelling, coherent narrative.
