Reviews
Animal (L'Animal, 1977) has received mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. According to IMDb, the film holds a rating of 6.5/10, indicating a generally favorable response. Many viewers appreciated Jean-Paul Belmondo's performance, highlighting his unique ability to blend action and comedy effortlessly. One review on Rotten Tomatoes notes, 'Belmondo's charm and physical prowess keep the film engaging even when the plot seems to wander.' Moreover, some critics admired the daring stunt work and the movie's self-aware humor. However, not all feedback is positive. A Metacritic review points out, 'While Belmondo shines, the movie occasionally relies too heavily on slapstick humor, which may not appeal to everyone.' Furthermore, the film's pacing and some dated comedic elements have been criticized. Overall, reviewers seem to agree that while 'Animal' may not be a cinematic masterpiece, it offers an entertaining and amusing experience largely due to its lead actor's magnetic presence.
